What to expect on your first Sunday

Congregation standing together for worship in the church sanctuary

Walking into a new church can feel like a big step. We want your first Sunday with us to feel easy, warm and unhurried, so here is what a typical morning looks like.

First things first

We encourage you to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early. That gives you time to chat, be welcomed and greeted, find a seat and get to know your neighbor. Nobody will put you on the spot. Just come as you are.

The bell rings at 10:30 AM

Our service begins promptly at 10:30 AM with ten rings of the church bell, a tradition we have kept for more than 80 years. When you hear it, you'll know worship is about to begin.

How the service flows

We sing songs of worship together.

We open a time of prayer, when anyone may share a prayer or request. If you'd like, you can bring your prayer to the pastor before the service so it can be shared for you.

The congregation is led in prayer, often including the Lord's Prayer.

A sermon opens up the Bible message for that week.

We close with more singing, and then the service adjourns.

Stay a while

Afterward, coffee, light snacks and friendly conversation follow every service. It's the best way to get to know our church family, and we'd love for you to stay.
