Your First Sunday at Sonoma Valley Community Church: What to Expect

Walking into a new church can feel like a big step. Whether you live in Sonoma or you are visiting the Valley, we would like to take some of the guesswork out of your first Sunday.

When and where

We gather every Sunday at 10:30 AM at 181 Chase Street, Sonoma, CA 95476. The service usually lasts about an hour. There's plenty of parking in our lot and on the surrounding streets. You're more than welcome.

What to wear

Come as you are. We dress in a relaxed and casual manner, as if you were going to a movie theater or a local concert in the park. Jeans are fine. So is your Sunday best, if that is what feels right.

What happens during the service

A Sunday includes singing, prayer, and reading and teaching from the Bible. Music is led with a baby grand piano and talented worship leaders. It is growing and adapting, and it is offered with care. The Lord's Supper is shared once a month. Services are posted on our YouTube channel each week, if you would like to watch a service online before you come.

After the service

Please stay for refreshments and conversation in the fellowship hall. It is the easiest way to meet people. If you would rather slip out quietly, that is fine too.

Children

Children are always welcome.

Who we are

Sonoma Valley Community Church is a Christian church, a Protestant congregation in the Reformed Church in America. We are not a Catholic church. Everyone is welcome. The congregation has been part of Sonoma life since 1945, when it first gathered as Grace Reformed Church. Our hope is to know God, grow together, and show his love.

Ways this church serves

We host blood drives with Vitalant and have collected more than 500 units of blood since 2022. Our shoebox ministry packed 402 shoeboxes in 2024. The 2026 Live Nativity date is coming soon, and the Christmas Eve candlelight service, with an ornament gift, is Thursday, December 24, 2026. The time is coming soon.
